At the time, I didn’t fully grasp the significance of the situation. I was too young to understand the adult worries that overshadowed the occasion. Instead of balloons and cake, the day was marked by the ordinary routine of life. While it might have seemed disappointing, looking back, I realize it was a lesson in resilience. Sometimes, the absence of celebration can teach us to find joy in simpler things and appreciate the small moments that might otherwise go unnoticed.
