While walking near her home in Chile, Elba Mayorga noticed something peculiar in a shop’s display window. Among the mannequins dressed in children’s clothing was what appeared to be an unusually lifelike dog figurine.
“I was in a super hurry, like I am every day, and I caught a glimpse of him out of the corner of my eye,” Mayorga told The Dodo. “I was intrigued because he didn’t move.”
Even though she was rushing, Mayorga couldn’t resist taking a closer look. To her surprise, the “figurine” stuck out its tongue at her.
“It was very cute!” Mayorga said.
She managed to capture the adorable moment on video:

It was a chilly winter day in South America, and Mayorga speculated that the dog — likely a stray — had wandered into the shop to find some warmth.
Although the encounter caused her to be a bit late, Mayorga has no regrets about the delay. “It was definitely worth the time I spent with him,” she said. “It brought me joy and a lot of happiness all day.”
