Major’s Journey to Finding His Forever Home
Some dogs just need to wait a little longer than others for their forever home. But when it finally happens – all those endless nights and days of sitting in hope and waiting for that special moment become a thing of the past!
Rescued from Euthanasia
Before becoming a beloved resident at the Naperville Area Humane Society (NAHS), Major, a spirited 3-year-old dog, along with his brother Hilo, faced a grim fate at a shelter in Quincy, Illinois. Fortunately, NAHS stepped in to save them from euthanasia.
Charismatic and Overlooked
Major and Hilo quickly won hearts at NAHS with their playful and friendly personalities. Despite Major’s excellent manners and affectionate nature, he remained overlooked by potential adopters for reasons unknown.
Beloved by All
Described as intelligent and affectionate by NAHS volunteers, Major formed close bonds with both humans and fellow dogs at the shelter. Everyone rooted for Major to find the loving family he deserved.
The Perfect Match
After spending 372 days waiting patiently, Major’s luck changed when Jose, a truck driver mourning the loss of his own dog, visited NAHS looking to adopt. It was clear to everyone at the shelter that Major and Jose were meant for each other.
A Heartfelt Farewell
With a bittersweet goodbye to his shelter friends, Major eagerly hopped into Jose’s truck, ready for a new chapter in his life.
Embracing Life’s Adventures
Now on the road with Jose, Major is thriving. Whether jumping out of the truck with enthusiasm or cherishing nighttime snuggles, Major is embracing each day as a new adventure.
