A dog is a charming animal that brings joy to people, and Herschel is one such animal whose eventual rescue brought joy back into his life after years of abuse.
A Life of Suffering
Herschel, a German Shepherd, endured severe mistreatment by his previous owner. Confined to a garden, he was denied even the most basic displays of affection. In his desperation, he wore his teeth down to their tips trying to gnaw the chain that confined him to a dreadful existence.
Finally, Herschel was taken to an animal shelter. However, his plight continued as two families who took him in subsequently returned him, unable to commit to a long-term relationship with this lonely dog.
A Turn of Fate
Herschel’s life took a remarkable turn when the animal rescue organization Found Animals stepped in. After hearing his heartbreaking story, they resolved that Herschel would never again face the misery of being returned to the shelter.
A Day of Joy
Found Animals found the perfect person for Herschel—someone who possessed deep, steadfast love. Before bringing him to his new forever home, they treated him to a thrilling day filled with new experiences. Herschel enjoyed a puppuccino, played in the snow, and savored a burrito.
First Time at the Ocean
One of the highlights of Herschel’s day was his first experience with the ocean. When he finally arrived, barely able to contain his delight, he leaped about with unrestrained joy. Seeing his happiness was truly heartwarming, and hearing his story is sure to bring tears to your eyes.
