Peggy the Pugese Makes Her Hollywood Debut!
Britain’s “ugliest” dog, Peggy the pugese—a charming mix of pug and Chinese crested—is stealing hearts on the red carpet alongside Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman. Peggy, affectionately dubbed “Dogpool,” is set to make her film debut in a collaboration with the actors for an upcoming Deadpool and Wolverine project.
The canine celebrity was recently spotted at a promotional event at London’s Eventim Apollo, sporting her superhero costume with pride. Photographs of Peggy alongside Reynolds and Jackman have captivated fans, showcasing her unique charm and style.
In celebration of the film, HMV has transformed its iconic dog-and-gramophone logo at their flagship Oxford Street store, replacing it temporarily with Peggy donning her red and black Deadpool outfit. This special makeover is part of HMV’s festivities leading up to the film’s UK release on July 26th.
Peggy, beloved by her owner Holly Middleton from Leven in East Yorkshire, gained fame after winning the UK’s ugliest dog contest last year. Despite her unconventional looks, Middleton describes Peggy as “beautiful both inside and out.”
According to Reynolds, Peggy embodies the spirit of Deadpool’s alter ego Wade Wilson, leading to her unexpected role in the film. Initially a small idea, Peggy’s presence grew to become a significant part of the movie’s storyline.
As Peggy continues to charm audiences and steal the spotlight, her journey from humble contest winner to Hollywood star highlights the power of embracing uniqueness and finding beauty in unexpected places.
