When Dr. Karri, a dedicated veterinarian at “Vet Ranch,” first met Violet, she was struck by the tiny puppy’s severe condition and unusual purple fur. Violet had been brought in by her owner, who wanted her euthanized after claiming she had been attacked by a larger dog.
The purple fur was initially explained as a result of a spray used on Violet’s wounds. However, the true horror behind Violet’s story was more disturbing. The purple dye had been used to mark her injuries after a brutal attack, and due to gross medical neglect, her wounds had worsened into a severe infection that nearly led to her death.
In a moving video, Dr. Karri walks us through Violet’s grueling recovery process. She treated Violet’s multiple infections and abscesses with a combination of powerful medications and pain relief. After 12 days of intensive care, Violet finally began to recover from her septic condition.
The contrast between Violet’s initial, heartbroken state and her joyful run at the end of the video is truly uplifting. The sight of Violet, grinning with gratitude in Dr. Karri’s arms, is a poignant reminder of the difference compassionate care can make.
After her recovery, Violet found a loving new home with Kelly and her playful Jack Russell sibling, Peanut. Dr. Karri’s intervention not only saved Violet’s life but also gave her a bright new future.
