In a recent TikTok video that’s tugging at heartstrings everywhere, a dog named Halo had a truly heartbreaking reaction to a birthday party that went awry when none of his canine friends showed up.
Celebrating a pet’s birthday is a beloved tradition for many pet owners. A 2022 poll by OnePoll, conducted for online pet retailer Zesty Paws, revealed that 44% of cat and dog owners throw parties for their furry friends.
Typically, these parties are filled with joy—treats, belly rubs, and maybe even a slice of cake are all part of the fun for pets surrounded by their family and friends.
Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case for Halo, a Brussels Griffon. In a TikTok video shared by his owner (@angelpawspups) earlier this month, Halo’s first birthday party was notably lacking in guests. The video captures Halo’s sadness as none of his doggy buddies showed up, leaving him heartbroken.
From behind the camera, Halo’s owner asks, “Did nobody come to your first birthday?” The disappointment is palpable as Halo, looking dejected, gazes into the distance while his owner proudly displays the special birthday cake she had made for him.
